DescriptionThe piece is part of the Vitrum series, which explores the beauty of Icelandic glass flows and the interplay between precision and chance. The side table consists of four glass blocks, cast vertically and clamped between two wooden plates through a tension belt. Each block is unique, formed from layered molten glass poured directly from the furnace and cooled slowly, preserving air inclusions and subtle irregularities. The wood is fire-treated, referencing the surfaces traditionally used to transport and shape hot glass, and providing a minimal, functional frame for the glass.
